The Magic In a Divine Holiday

The holiday season is upon us once again.  Do you believe in a divine being?  Do you believe in God, Allah, Buddha, The Light, Jehovah, or no god at all?  Does it matter?  No matter what religion you practice (or none at all), your beliefs or even your discord with the whole notion of having to brave the crowds to purchase gifts this holiday season – you can’t deny the magic of the season.  Even if we as humans created “Christmas” or morphed it into some sort of consumerist scheme, the fact that many of us are able to set aside time to spend with family and friends is a miracle in it of itself.  This is the time of year when you should get in touch with that inner child.  It’s there.  The stillness, the wonder, the joy… despite whatever turmoil is going on in the world, in our lives, in our communities, we must give our energy to the light of giving.  “‘Tis better to give than receive.”   We must also send love into the world.  Everyone sure could use it!
If you are a decent person full of love, compassion, empathy and positivity, then you know what kind of transformation takes place this time of year.  You know the joy children experience when they are given a much anticipated gift or told the tale of Santa Claus.  Perhaps you have been on the receiving end of a basket full of food during a time in your life when you had little.  For one moment, the despair of knowing where your next meal came from was lifted.  It was lifted because of the kindness and generosity from a soul like yours.
During this time of year, it is essential to guard ourselves, or shielding as it’s referred to in the Metaphysical Field.  We need to guard ourselves from the darkness.  What is the darkness exactly?  The darkness could be crooks, that in-law you don’t get along with, an estranged friend, terrorists or even the devil as believed in some religions.  Another way we refer to the darkness is negative energy.  Negativity.  It’s draining, depressing and full of anger.  If we allow the magic to be taken or stolen from us, then the darkness has won.
So how do we guard ourselves from potential encounters with the darkness?  It’s simple, really.  For those who pray, pray.  For others, try speaking your intention to the universe.  For example, when you’re at a holiday gathering or even before leaving the house say, “I will have a fabulous time.  I will interact with those whom I love and who are best aligned with my higher purpose.”  In order to have a good time, free of anxiety or stress, simply manifest the outcome you desire.
Going into the New Year, instead of making resolutions that may only last 3 days, you can change your frame of thinking quite easily.  Speak your intention to the Universe.  Say, “I am thin.  I am healthy.  I have reached by fitness goals.  My finances are great, I’m a billionaire!”  Whatever it is you want to change, speak as if you already own it.  The Universe will work in its secretive ways to make your intentions a reality.  For more information and tips, we recommend you read “The Secret” by Rhonda Byrne.  Give the book to yourself as a gift.  You deserve it.
In closing, you all will have a joyous and wonderful holiday.  Whether spent at home, with family, on vacation, at work or alone.  It will be unforgettable, happy, and full of love and light.  Please keep the magic alive that is inside of you all in this holiday season.
